      What's new?

We’re continuing to make updates on our 2024 Job Costing Budget release to ensure the workflow is ideal for managing your job costs.

This roadmap card will move to Recently Launched once everything is complete. Planned updates, subject to change based on customer feedback, are listed below.

      Recently Launched

      • Adjust projected costs in the Job Costing Budget: Users with permissions to edit or delete items in the Job Costing Budget can now adjust the projected cost column for any cost code and manually increase or decrease the projected value. This allows you to account for expected changes before the actual costs arrive, keeping your budget and forecasts accurate.

      • Estimate line-item access: We’ve linked the estimate-related items under Original Budget Costs. This allows you to view estimate line items directly in the Job Costing Budget.

      In Progress

      • Filter the Job Costing Budget by related items: To help you isolate essential groups of costs on the Job Costing Budget you can filter by Time Clock labor shifts, QuickBooks Costs, Variances and more.

      • High-level insights for Fixed Price jobs: For jobs marked as Fixed Price, the Job Costing Budget will display projected profits and overall profit margin – not invoice details.

      • QuickBooks Online ‘Sync Other Accounting Costs’ button: We added this button to the Job Costing Budget, allowing jobs connected to QuickBooks Online with the Include Other Accounting Costs setting enabled to be manually synced. This ensures all data flows correctly between QuickBooks and Buildertrend.

      • Paid status on QuickBooks other costs: We’re adding a Paid Status field to the Job Costing Budget’s QuickBooks cost options, so you can stay in Buildertrend when referencing costs in QuickBooks.

      • Set your Job Costing Budget to Cash or Accrual: You can now take advantage of the Job Costing Budget to forecast costs and profit data by switching your accounting method to Accrual in Buildertrend. This works even if you’re set to Cash in QuickBooks or Xero.
