Small software renovations for December

• Give custom roles viewing access to the Job Costing Budget: Admins can now give custom role users viewing access to the Job Costing Budget without the ability to add, edit or delete other financial information.

• Job status permissions: New permissions allow you to grant or restrict access based on job status. Jobs with a Presale status can be seen by those in sales roles and can be restricted for those in field crew and project manager roles. Alternatively, jobs with an Open status can be restricted to those in sales roles. This mirrors the historical model, allowing those in sales roles access to Lead Proposals and those in other roles access to Job Estimates

• File replacement update: Replacing a file within a job now updates only the file in that specific job, leaving the source template and other jobs untouched. This ensures that documents are unique to each job and remains relevant to each project.

• Automatic invoice reminders via SMS text: Clients can now receive a SMS text reminder for invoices shared via text if invoice reminders are turned on.

Adjust projected costs in the Job Costing Budget

Users with edit or delete permissions in the Job Costing Budget can adjust the projected cost column for any cost code and manually increase or decrease the projected value. 

Small software renovations in Early Adopter

• Easily preview your files: Use the new file viewer within Document Info to preview and interact with files without downloading or switching tabs.

• Approve & Pay button for Change Orders: We added an Approve & Pay button to client facing change orders, allowing them to go directly to the invoice instead of approving the change order and then being prompted to make a payment.

• Notify clients on deposits with SMS text deposit requests: Builders using Buildertrend Payments can now notify clients for deposit requests via SMS text.

Budget changes

Beginning in early Q1 2025, new jobs will only have access to the Job Costing Budget. While the legacy Budget will be available on previously created jobs for the time being, users should expect to begin referencing the Job Costing Budget. See this roadmap card for more information.
