Small software renovations: November
At Buildertrend, we care about your feedback. Below are some of the items we recently launched that’ll impact several of our most-used features. These customer-driven updates will help improve your workflows and make your day run smoother.
Project management updates
Warranty job status: Builders can now assign the job status of Warranty to any job.
Share Schedule items and phases with clients: Users can now share Schedule items and phases with clients. When both are shared, clients using the desktop application will see both and mobile app users will continue to only see schedule items.
View Last Active date for clients: When a job is selected on the Jobs menu, you can now see when your clients were last active in Buildertrend.
Financial updates
QuickBooks Online deposit record for Buildertrend Payments settlements: If you're using Buildertrend Payments and are connected to QuickBooks Online, we now automatically create a bank deposit record in QuickBooks when a Buildertrend Payments settlement is created.
Apple Pay for invoices and deposits: Your clients can now take advantage of a faster, simpler checkout using Apple Pay for Owner Invoices and Deposits.
Deposits in the Customer Portal: Deposits are now included in the Pay Now and Action Items sections of the Customer Portal.
Open Book financial reporting updates: We updated some of the high-level financial reporting areas for jobs marked as Open Book. Changes include:
Customer Portal: We updated the Job Price Summary within the Client Portal, removing the Job Running Total. In its place you can now share more accurate Open Book job price summaries with Contract Price (approved proposal price), Current Price (based on actual and project costs incurred) and the difference between the two as Price Adjustments.
Builder Portal: On Owner Invoices and Job Info the Job Running Total has been replaced with Revised Owner Price in the remaining balance calculation.
Owner Portal / Client communication update
Centralized defaults for Homeowner job settings: We’ve consolidated all homeowner-related permission options into one new section in Company Settings, titled Homeowners. You can now configure all default settings for the Customer Portal from this section instead of configuring settings one-by-one on individual jobs. You can also override individual job settings as needed.
Client access to Job Costing Budget items: Through a new job setting, you can now show your clients related items on the Job Costing Budget via the Customer Portal. Related items will display the same as they do on your Builder Portal. This additional transparency helps you avoid inquiries from your clients on the outline of budget values and what may be contributing to being over or under budget.
